OUR STATEMENT OF FAITH

We believe in…

1. The one true God who lives eternally in three persons – the Father, the Son and the Holy Spirit. Deut 6:4; Gen 1:1; Isa 40:28; Joh 1:3; 4:24; Col 1:16; 1Ti 2:5
2. The love, grace and sovereignty of God in creating, sustaining, ruling, redeeming and judging the world. Gen 1:2; 2:7; Psa 103:1-22, 104:30; Heb 1:2-3
3. The divine inspiration and supreme authority of the Old and New Testament Scriptures, which are the written Word of God – fully trustworthy for faith and conduct. 2Pe 1:21; Mat 5:18; 2Ti 3:16; Tit 1:2; 1Th 2:13; Jer 1:9; Pro 30:56; 2Sa 23:2; Mar 12:30; Act 4:25; Rev 22:18-19
4. The dignity of all people, made male and female in God’s image to love, be holy and care for creation, yet corrupted by sin, which incurs divine wrath and judgement. Gen 1:26; 2:7,16-17; Mat 19:4; Col 1:16; 1Ti 2:13-14; Gen 3:1-24; 1Ti 2:13-14; Eph 2:3; Psa 58:3; Jer 17:9; Rom 3:10-23; Isa 64:6
5. The incarnation of God’s eternal Son, the Lord Jesus Christ – born of the virgin Mary; truly divine and truly human, yet without sin. Isa 9:6; Mat 1:18-25; Luk 1:26-37; Joh 1:1-14; Rev 19:13; 1Ti 3:16; 1Jo 5:7; Isa 7:14
6. The atoning sacrifice of Christ on the cross: dying in our place, paying the price of sin and defeating evil, so reconciling us with God. Rom 6:23; 2:23-25; 8:34; 1Jo 3:4; Isa 53:4-8,10; Eze 18:20; Lev 17:11; Heb 7:25; 9,11-28; 10:1-18; 1Pe 1:18 19; 2:24; 1Co 15:38; Luk 24:51; Act 1:10-11; Col 1:27; 2Co 13:5
7. The bodily resurrection of Christ, the first fruits of our resurrection; his ascension to the Father, and his reign and mediation as the only Savior of the world. Mat 28:1-10; Joh 20:1-9; Act 1:1-10; 1Co 15:1-58
8. The justification of sinners solely by the grace of God through faith in Christ. Rom 3:21-31; 4; 5:1-5
9. The ministry of God the Holy Spirit, who leads us to repentance, unites us with Christ through new birth, empowers our discipleship and enables our witness. Joh 3:5; 6:44; 14:16-17, 26; 15:26; 16:6-11; Act 1:8; 5:34; 1Co 2:11 14; 12:13; Rom 6:9-11, 8:1-39; 1Jo 5:7
10 The Church, the body of Christ both local and universal, the priesthood of all believers – given life by the Spirit and endowed with the Spirit’s gifts to worship God and proclaim the gospel, promoting justice and love. Eph 3:10-11; 4:11-13; Rom 12:3-8; Joh 12:44; Luk 10:16; Mat 5:13-14; Mar 16:20; 2Ti 2:12; 2Pe 2:1-3
11. The personal and visible return of Jesus Christ to fulfill the purposes of God, who will raise all people to judgement, bring eternal life to the redeemed and eternal condemnation to the lost, and establish a new heaven and new earth. 1Th 4:13-18; Joh 14:1-3; Zec 14:1-9; Act 1:10-11; Luk 11:39; Rev 20:6; 1Co 15:51-2

…and Spirit Filled

1. We believe in the person, presence and power of God, the Holy Spirit, who convicts the world of sin and lives in every believer to assure, guide, and enable them to live godly lives and display the fruit of Christlikeness. Gen 1:2; Gen 6:3; Psa 51:11; Psa 139:7; Isa 40:13; Isa 44:3-4; Luke 4:18; John 1:33; Acts 1:8; John 16:7-14; Romans 5:3-5; Romans 8:1-39; 1 Cor 2:10-14; 1 Cor 3:16; 2 Cor 1:22; Eph 1:12-14; Gal 5:22-23; 1 John 3:24
2. This same Spirit also empowers the church to be effective witnesses for Christ, anointing them to preach the Gospel and operate in the supernatural spiritual gifts in order to edify the church, establish the Kingdom of God, and fulfill the Great Commission. Mat 3:11; John 1:33; Mark 1:8; Luke 3:16; Matthew 28:18-20; Luke 34:46-49; Acts 1:5-8; Acts 2:1-4; 1 Cor 1:5-7; 1 Cor 12:4-11; Eph 4:7-13; 1 Pet 4:10;
